Subj: The "Zigster"~

Hello Phyllis!
Just wanted to give you an update on Ziggy, (Siegfried, or "Batman", "the Zigster", "Little Diablo", or "My Little Siegessäule"). What a little champ this fella is! Such a darling, wonderfully intelligent pup and full of love and affection.
He's so smart! His eating habits have fallen into a routine; very few 'treats' during any day; kibble on top of a teaspoon of semi-cooked hamburger which he devours like no tomorrow, and plain kibble at night. He's gained a full pound! Well, if he was truly 3 pounds when we got him two weeks ago, he is now 4 pounds. I suspect he might have been a bit heavier than 3 when we got him though. We shall learn for certain tomorrow as his first Vet visit is then with a Dr Gregory Chrisawn of Ferry Farm Vets on King's Rd here in Fredericksburg.
I'm particularly pleased that he's full of vigor but not neurotic for affection, nor overly excitable. He's just pure love. He sleeps with us in bed now, sans crate, smack in the middle between David's and my pillow. Cute. To think we had absolutely no inclination to purchase an Affenpinscher!
He's meticulously potty trained; he'll either wait for me to walk him to do his business outside, or hop into the litter box which we've placed just in front (side) of the exiting door. What a love. He also shows a distinct preference to me which is amazing as most dogs tend to favour David. Makes a mother proud.
He struts his stuff as though he were a show dog and people have commented on it too, tail held high, head too, and just struts with pride up & down the neighbourhood. I've got his face plastered all over my facebook wall, ha!
Thank you for allowing us to be his parents. I am so delighted, so besotted and so grateful that he is ours.

My first Affenpinscher was lovely little black beauty from Tamarin Kennels. Toni won her 9-12 class at the National Specialty in 2005, and finished her Championshipwith a 5 point major the next day, before she was a year old. Her name was CH Tamarin Toni.

It was my original plan to have one pet Affenpinscher, to perhaps show a little, and breed once or twice. Unfortunately, Toni was not destined to be a great producer and only had one puppy in many, many attempts.
Meanwhile, I was fortunate enough to be offered a male Affenpinscher from Yarrow Kennel (Beth Sweigart), and so I thought a friend for Toni might be fun. That is how I acquired High Tech Curious George Watermark. George finished pretty quickly, and has a wonderful loving personality. He is very athletic and loves to ride on or run along with our golf cart.

George has had some interesting travels, including some time with German Shepherd breeder, trainer and handler Kent Boyles, who showed him to a Group 2 placement.

George has also been to Canada, ably handled by Jim Moses to a Toy Group 2 and a Toy Group 3

George recently received a Toy Group 2 handled by Lisa Miller. Lisa did all George's early training and gave him the wonderful start and love of showing that has earned him these exciting awards.
